There are several ways our volunteers can offer their time to keep the network running smoothly:
Transporting our service users to appointments is by far the biggest request we have; appointments to the doctor, dentist, opticians, Horsham Hospital, taking a user shopping. Occasionally we have a request to do shopping for a user. We were set up to help prevent isolation and loneliness and an area we would like to expand upon is social visits.
We have been known to find a volunteer who plays Canasta and another Scrabble although for many a cup of tea and a chat is what they need.
Our outings are popular; in the past we have visited Camelia Botnar Café, Stooks at Newbridge Nurseries, Riverside Tearoom at Amberley, High Beeches Tearoom, Arundel Museum, Denmans Garden Fontwell. Our Christmas Tea and Cake outing this year is once again to Stooks.
We are currently looking for committee members; we meet every six weeks on a Monday morning currently in Beeson House. If you are interested, please leave us a message on our mobile 07766 088967 and we will call you back.
Our mobile phone is our virtual office which is managed by our Volunteer Coordinators Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm. Rarely will you be able to speak to anyone just leave your name and telephone number with the reason for your call and a Volunteer Coordinator will call you back.
SNN volunteers can use their email address and password to gain access to our Volunteer Area by signing in in the top right hand corner.
